Facebook has the audience and design to pull in the users that can finally compete with Craigslist. Groups new features will allow users to more adequately sell their products directly, rather than throwing a post up with a description and shipping out the product if they get noticed.

FB is less anonymous, so reduces the likelihood of sales falling through and gives the seller some credibility. The group setup is more organized so buyers don't have to wade through so many posts to make a purchase.

Craigslist has proven time and time again that the marketplace isn't about sleek design and innovative features. People want to post and sell a product online just as if they were selling it on the street, just with a larger audience. Craigslist has fought off multiple competitors who brought in better designs and will continue to do so with Facebook.

The anonymity on Craigslist brings too much appeal to people. If you don't want people to know exactly who you are and possibly where you are, it's simply a better option. Even for non-shady business this can be a benefit.
